Intro

My name is Jake Kelly and I come from San Diego, California. My major is pre-business and I hope I can get into Eller. I'm 19 and my favorite thing in the world is the surf. Ever since I was a kid I always loved being in the Ocean and so living in California provided me with endless coastline and prime surf spots whenever I felt like surfing. There something about the feeling of the saltwater on your back and being able to use the power of the ocean to have fun. I get attacked by sea animals alot including being bitten by small shark, been stung by two stingrays, and nearly getting eaten by a sea lion. Theres not really any worry about sharks or stingrays, those are generally pretty minor. The sea lions are crazy though, they'll hang out in the breaks underwater and then pop out to get some air at the top while your just kickin it waiting for a wave. If you get within a foot or two or touch one your pretty much eaten no matter what.

My second favorite thing is my Dog, I could kick it with my Dog all day. He's a yellow lab named Bear and weighs 100 pounds. I got him as a pup at 8 weeks and hes been following me around ever since. No matter where I go he's always down to come and I don't even need a leash. No matter what he just posts up on my right side and goes to sleep. He rolls to the beach with me and If I don't tie him up in my truck bed he'll wait until I get into the break and start paddling then come follow me out into the water.

Third favorite thing is snowboarding. I've only been surfing for 5 years but I've been snowboarding for 13 years so I'm better at snowboarding. Partly because its an easier sport and partly because I've spent so much time on the mountains. I spend at least 4 weeks boarding every year. The reason i like surfing more than snowboarding is no matter how big you go surfing your only risk is animals and getting pounded by waves. Snowboarding when you go big you risk nearly every bone in your body. I've broken 3 bones and had too many other smaller injuries to count. Still, snowboarding is #3 and thats high on the list.

The End.
